Fire and rescue service. intensifies monsoon preparation

The Department of Fire and Rescue Services urged people to be cautious of damage caused by rain during the northeast monsoon in Coimbatore District.

The 13 fire stations in the district are ready to take over rain-related rescue services. Fire and rescue personnel are currently issuing advisories to the public on dos and don’ts during the monsoon.

The Annadurai District Fire Officer called on all station officers to keep their staff ready to respond to calls for help from the public. Fire stations have also been asked to conduct awareness programs and rescue drills in places prone to monsoon damage.

Kovaipudur Fire Station conducted an exercise in Perur Periyakulam on Monday to rescue and provide first aid to those trapped in tanks and other bodies of water.
