City Rescue Mission Holds Spring Open Days | Lifestyles

The City Rescue Mission invites the public to tour its newly renovated facilities.

He has scheduled an open house at his location at 319 S. Croton Ave. from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 6, as well as from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 7.

In addition to a tour, visitors will enjoy a meal and meet those whose lives have been touched by Mission ministries.

At the Croton Avenue site, patrons can tour the Men’s Ministry’s Emergency Homeless Shelter and Recovery Program Dormitory, Community Food Program’s Kitchen and Dining Hall, and the Care Ministry to the family who provides food and other forms of assistance to families. Tours of Sankey Center, the Mission’s youth facility, and Hope Place, the women’s ministry shelter for homeless women and women with children, will depart from Croton Avenue at 5 p.m. on May 6 and at 11:15 a.m. on May 7.

“A lot of times when I talk to people in the community they say, ‘I had no idea you were doing this at the Mission.’ That’s why I encourage everyone to visit us at our Open Houses and see firsthand how each of the Mission’s ministries meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people we serve,” said Jack Lynn, executive Director.

Those attending the open house will have the opportunity to hear from Mission guests how donors, volunteers and staff provide the resources and guidance they need to transform their lives, regain their independence and regain a positive place in our community.
